Sashiko is said to have been introduced to Japan during the Edo period.
It is a wonderful tradition that combines the original purpose of preserving warmth and reinforcing fabric with beautiful geometric patterns.
Ms. uchico sashico says, "I try to make traditional sashiko a little cuter."

There are two types of hair ties: 【Kurumi Hair Tie】 and 【Button Hair Tie】.
【Kurumi Hair Tie】
The hair tie is subtly curved to neatly hold your hair in place.
Additionally, the elastic band is replaceable, so even if it stretches out, you can easily restore it.
The knot of the elastic band can be hidden in the joint, so it's completely unnoticeable!
【Button Hair Tie】
A round, button-shaped design.
It's also cute when used as a band to hold pens or notebooks.
The sashiko pattern is "Senba Karasu" (Thousand Cranes).
The indigo blue of the fabric looks like an evening sky.
The hair tie backing features an original illustration by Terufuku.
The girl wears a skirt with a sashiko pattern and holds "Shirobiki Sake," a specialty of Niigata, where uchico sashico and Terufuku are based, in her hands.
